With regards to the hunger of our demons, these are the results of Zelda's suggested test for Magnetite in a corpse that has been left for three days:

When the corpse is left untouched for three days, it causes stomachaches.

When the corpse is kept in a freezer for three days, we still gain sustenance, but not as much as a fresh kill.

[And it's also slightly less tasty, but he doesn't mention that :T He's not sure if this'll help with the research, but it's worth mentioning.]

Sera's song could also temporarily suppress our hunger. It becomes ineffective after a certain point. She's no longer in the city. I have a recording of her song, though it's much less effective.

I see. So the magnetite content degrades, likely in correlation with the condition of the meat. Now I'm curious if we can manage to isolate it, and perhaps even synthesize it in some way.

I'm also fascinated by the connection between your "hunger" and this song, but as that appears to be a less efficient solution in general, looking into it should probably be given less priority.

The next step would be to test other alterations we could make to your magnetite sources. Cooking, and other treatments. Perhaps long-term preservation.

Ah, bodies in full disappear after three days, but I wonder just how thorough that law is. This will double as a fine opportunity to test the limits of our situation.

As for cooking, anything so long as it involves treating the meat with heat. Perhaps even in different increments, so we can measure if and how magnetite correlates to protein degradation.

Understood. We'll eat the meat shortly after it's cooked, unless you have other plans.

Maybe, for use as a control. But my original thought was more along the lines of setting aside some of the cooked meat and seeing what happens.

The meat loses Magnetite as it is cooked. Fully or overcooked meat loses a large amount of Magnetite. Lightly cooked meat has more Magnetite than fully cooked meat, but still contains less than raw meat.

We tried boiling, frying, grilling, roasting, and steaming. The method of cooking does not appear to matter.

Zelda has found a solution to the cannibalism. Any kind of raw meat is sufficient for our needs.
